You express my exact thoughts in this article. I also write on Substack, for free, where I get few reads, but at least I am not paying to put my thoughts on paper on Substack. Here, on Medium, I make between $5 and $10 per month, even though I have hundreds of "followers." Like you, I enjoy the writing process, so I will stick with Substack and leave Medium.
