I have terrible insurance (but it's all that I can afford for premiums are so high), and the urgent care doctor made me an immediate appointment to radiology; I could be seen in 2 hours. Before I left urgent care, a call came from the radiology center, and I was told they couldn't see me because they don't accept my insurance. I had to wait 6 weeks for a radiology appointment at the only center that accepts "poor people" insurance. I'm okay, but like you, I thought of all the people who don't speak English, or don't understand medical jargon. It's terrifying enough to go through these things, and it is maddening to know that money makes all the difference in the level of care one receives.
