There’s Always Money for Weapons
War, the economy, and growing inequality
Here’s a quote from NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg (at the World Economic Forum) that deserves a double-take:
“Weapons are the way to peace.”
If you only watch, read, or listen to the MSM (mainstream media, you may simply accept that statement as true.
But if you read, watch, and listen to people like Noam Chomsky, Chris Hedges, The Grayzone’s Max Blumenthal and Aaron Mate, John Kiriakou, Caitlin Johnstone, Patrick Lawrence, Richard G. Wolff, Scott Ritter and other independent voices who have been all but banned from the MSM, you will immediately notice that Stoltenberg’s quote is a perfect example of Orwellian double-speak.
Weapons manufacturers are amassing incredible profits, while homelessness grows, personal bankruptcies due to medical debt rise, Gen Y and Z may never see Social Security benefits of any meaningful amount, and the Earth burns due to global warming.
Why aren’t more people in the US troubled by images like this?
