The Empire’s Super Bowl
The cringeworthy acquiescence to depravity
The oligarchs who run the Empire are more boldly than ever showing us their opinion of ordinary people. They despise us, they mock us. They truly believe we are stupid.
And many ordinary people, kept harried and exhausted working multiple jobs just to pay the rent and buy essential groceries, while being constantly bombarded by propaganda in our fake, commercialized environments, come to accept the status quo that is presented to us by the Empire oligarchs as “just the way life is”.
The Super Bowl is a spectacle of the depravity of the Empire’s oligarchs. This is not about sports, it is about sending the ordinary people the message that we are no more than helpless gamblers in a world that they control.
This is the sports world acting like the venture capitalists who are now gobbling up teams from the old family companies. They’re out for blood no matter the social cost and without even a pretense of what was once called social responsibility. They are the new athletic vultures in a time of war and social decay. It is not surprising that people are looking for escape but this is an anti-worker escape, leaving people destitute and financially disabled now in need of even more help than society is willing to provide.
