How the Two-Party System is destroying us

With the mid-term elections fast approaching, we are being deluged with the scare-mongering messages that are an insidious form of brainwashing. The GOP warns that our freedoms are fast disappearing and the only remedies are more guns, more cops, a stronger military, closing the borders, and trusting in the White, Christian God. The Democrats warn us that we have to support candidates who are willing to be bipartisan; that we will lose the election if we vote for anyone other than the candidate favored by the DNC.

So, how has voting for either the Republican or the Democrat worked out for us? Most people I know refer to elections as a choice between the lesser of two evils. We are urged to vote for the lesser evil, as voting for anyone other than a Democrat or a Republican is a wasted vote. I think that if we listened to the messages that candidates like Ralph Nader and Bernie Sanders promoted, we wouldn’t be in the dire situation that we are in now.

The true enemy of the people is corporate greed and capitalism run amok. Both the Republican and Democratic candidates vying for our votes in most modern elections have been bought by corporate money. I supported Bernie (who at least didn’t take corporate donations), but I do not see him as a savior. He takes the pragmatic view that it is…
