So much wisdom here.

We need to recover urgently a sense of the universal benefit and impact of writing. But the greatest enemy of this is fear, and in particular the fear of putting a part of us out there. But we should accept with good grace that the whole point of writing is to show a part of us that is rather not shining, rather not articulate, nor morphologically perfect.
