Setting Aside Childish Ways
Facing Reality in the dying American Empire
The situation gets more ridiculous by the day. I find myself surrounded by people who swallow whole the inane rhetoric of the talking heads of the mainstream media, and respond like children when anyone tries to offer an alternative point of view.
Their facial expressions and denials remind me of the “I can’t heeaar you!” response of a toddler who is disappointed by the answer he is given, and pretends that if he’s not listening to something that he would rather not hear, it simply won’t be true.
Just like a child in denial, is the adult that still actually believes that Joe Biden or Donald Trump should actually be candidates for the Presidency of the US. These same adults also think that any Green Party candidate, such as Cornel West, is some kind of spoiler.
Newsflash: People who vote for candidates outside of the duopoly have no desire to switch their allegiance just because the media tells them that a vote for a third-party candidate is a vote wasted.
I voted for Ralph Nader. I wrote in Bernie Sanders when the DNC stole the election for Biden. I will write in Cornel West in 2024. Not because I want to “spoil” the chances of the major party candidates, but because I know that the game is rigged.
