In the midst of this heat wave, watching Portugal and Spain burn, and hearing about the record high temperatures being set around the world, I experience anxiety as I wonder, what kind of world will the children of today be forced to survive in? How can so many people refuse to see how our unsustainable lifestyles are resulting in the death of people, animals, flowers, and crops?

So, in my reading today, I came across this article by Richard Lowenthal

In his article, Richard Lowenthal asks the questions:

WHY do you think most Americans are so damned stupid? And this one: Why can’t they see what’s happening right in front of their noses?

I learn so many things from Medium writers, and in Richard Lowenthal’s article I learned about “soul blindness.” He provides an excellent explanation for that term, so I recommend reading his article if you are curious.

And if you are not curious? How can you not be curious? I am always curious.
