My ex was a military officer in the US, and we lived in some pretty awful military housing (asbestos, dangerous wiring, backed-up plumbing, etc). We used to pay exhoribant rents just to have a decent place to live. Army/Air Force had decent housing, yet Navy/Marine housing was awful. I had no idea that Canada was in the same situation.
