It is the intent behind Rittenhouse's actions that bothers me. Why, indeed, did he feel the need to cross state lines, to supposedly protect property and businesses (with the assumption that black protestors are only out to steal and destroy)? His intent is steeped in racism. If a person of color did the same thing, he would be dead.
