It depends on why one writes. When I wrote newsletters for organizations, my audience was the group members. When I wrote papers in college, my audience was the professor (I learned the hard way on that one!), but when I write on Medium, I am writing for me. I write to put some sense of order into the millions of thoughts swirling around in my head. If my words resonate with someone, great; but if no one reads what I wrote, I still achieved my goal of putting words on paper to capture how I feel in the moment.
