I would respond that when we feel forced to vote for the status quo, with the hope that the one we choose is the "lesser evil", we are voting out of fear. How did our elections get to be in such a sorry state in which our vote (which is supposed to represent our voices, the things we the people want from our government) has become really no different than the governments that our nation ridicules, because their elections are for a dictator who they know will stay in power no matter the vote. They are voting out of fear, and we are doing the same thing when we vote for someone whose policies we despise. The whole election is a mockery. A vote for Dr. West is a vote for "a moment in a movement" (those are his very words). Because our system is corrupt, and will only get further entrenched the more we vote for corrupt candidates. Change will take time, unfortunately, and it will be messy. But nothing will change if we just keep doing the same thing over and over because we fear the alternative. This has been the story throughout history.
