I have long been a fan of Cornel West, because he so openly and honestly says exactly what he means, and does not shy away from topics that are sensitive, even when he risks condemnation from the states quo. He was denied tenure at Harvard because he openly spoke in favor of Palestinian issues https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2021/07/14/cornel-west-leaves-harvard-again
Also, he has been told by many political advisors that he shouldn't focus so much on race (part of his platform is about repairing the damage done by colonization and he believes in reparations for the generational effects due to slavery). His answer, to those advisors: "I am a free black man." He will not stoop down and let anyone climb on his back. He will not hedge his words for the sake of winning an election. While he is "in it to win it" he won't play all the games that politicians play to get elected, for that would make him a collaborator in our corrupt system. His goal is to build a sustained movement to raise awareness and compassion, and give people hope that a better way is possible.
I don't think that Jill Stein has the personality or the following to bring about the major changes that our country needs. That being said, I wouldn't be disappointed if she won, as she is certainly better than the Dems/Repubs.
