I generally avoid titles that make me think the article is going to no more than a compilation of suggestions taken from other articles. I do struggle with titles, though. I come up with a title that I think is so clever, but is usually a "play on words" that it would take a reading of the entire article to understand. If I didn't capture an audience with my title, though, most people will bypass my writing. Still, I do things my way. Maybe that's why I get a check for .07 cents from Stipe!
