I asked for a raise after 10 years of going above and beyond for the same rate of pay. My pay was decreased, as a grant that covered part of my pay wasn't funded. It was $5/hr, less. The money could have come from another part of the budget. They begged me to stay on "out of the goodness if my heart", but I was outta there.
