I am not at all uncomfortable discussing race. CHOSSA are not a monolith, and neither are people who fall under the category of White (and, I do follow your writing and know that you have terms like People of Pallor as opposed to White). White Supremacy must be addressed, and you have your own way of addressing it. But, we need to move beyond just pointing out the evil systems that this nation was built on (ethnically cleansing indigenous peoples and enslavement of people from Africa), and work immediately towards fellowship and peace. Right now, we have a black man as our secretary of defense, who fully supports US actions in Africa, which seek to deny sovereignty and maintain US control with a US military presence in 26 of Africa's 54 countries. As Cornel West says, "black faces in high places" who are puppets for white supremacy are not helping black people. This would not have changed under a black, female president, who made campaign promises of creating "the most lethal military" that the world has ever known.
Keep talking about the evils of white supremacy, Laura, but please also join in solidarity with people of all pallors who are working towards world peace.
