I agree, Ted, this is more a self-awareness and psychology issue more than anything else. I also believe that "humanizing the need for flexibility" should, in theory, work; but that it often doesn't. I am amazed by people who want others to suffer, if they had to suffer to get where they are. Rather than admit what they went through was brutal and should be abolished, they take the attitude of "why should anyone else have it easier than me." This attitude is changing for younger people, so I hope that the future workplace will be a lot kinder.
