Here in Rhode Island, the Ocean State, there was recently a news segment about which parts of the state would most likely be underwater in the next 5 years. Basically, it would affect the wealthy, as most coastal properties are prime real estate. I live inland, on the 2nd floor, and my neighborhood is on a hill, so I don't worry about losing my home (it has been standing since 1910). I worry most about the damage to crops, and our supply of drinking water. I continue to fight the privatization of our drinking water supply, and I refuse to buy bottled water, which is gobbling up the water supply for greater corporate profits. Poland Springs is leaving many of the wells of homeowners in the state of Maine dry, as it is seeping up the water from the "springs", and the whole underwater system is destroyed.
