Excellent! I've been told so many times to "Just be normal" or to "keep my eyes on the prize" when I was asked to accept inane instructions in order to attain a goal. I just couldn't do it. I didn't want the status if, in order to achieve it, I had to do things contrary to my beliefs. I didn't want to be part of the blind, "status quo" crowd.
