Courtney, you have retained your sense of humor through all this, and that is a delight! Now, I will get all philosophical on you. . . I understand how you feel about "hope." It is often a mechanism for avoidance, but not in your case. I view "hope" as "the possibility for change." Note that I wrote "possibility" not "probability". And that leads me into our disastrous for-profit healthcare system, where constant testing and retesting, and the resulting probabilities such testing implies are (from my experience) very unreliable. I am not licensed to give medical advice, but I think getting postassium from food is far preferable to getting it from a tablet. Also, look into foods that inhibit potassium absorption, so that you don't undo what you are attempting to fix. I put some links below that may offer some answers. I wish you well.
