Being my authentic self has gotten me fired several times. Example: I put the "customer first" and was told that I had set a bad precedent, because now "every customer will expect to be treated that way"; Of course, good customer service skills was a job requirement, but not when you spend too much time with a customer, and you fail to "turn and burn", get customers in and out as fast as possible to make more money. I have so many examples of this is my own life; it borders on ridiculous.
