Andrew, you ARE Andrew, and that is how you write--in your authentic voice. It's great that you strive to see your own biases, and that you want to produce your best writing. But don't lose "you" in the process. Your opinions of authors and their books are your valid opinions. Who cares what the If Books Could Kill people think? What makes their opinions more valuable than yours? All of us who take the time to reflect on things are living in stages of growth. We live and learn, and sometimes our thinking evolves. That's wisdom and perspective. I believe in research and humility, but I also believe in sharing one's authentic voice.
