A blessing or a curse?

My overactive mind has been in racing mode lately. Then, I read this article by Kimberlee Jakobe,

and my thoughts started to coalesce.

What’s really been bothering me lately is that most people just don’t seem to care that society is falling apart around us, and they are content to just sit by while it happens.

I commented to Kimberlee Jakobe, that I think we need to add another category to the three mentioned in her article’s title (friend, foe, distracted):

those who are just too comfortable right now to care.

When talking about all the mass shootings, a friend of mine recently said, “It hasn’t affected me, why should I ruin my cushy life by thinking about it.” She seems to think she is somehow protected from the violence, as she lives in a “safe” neighborhood.

She thinks that the gang violence on the other side of the city isn’t her problem.
